Strengthening communities through partnership, purpose, and impact.

Astrion in Action recently completed its 2026 fall grant cycle by joining the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville for its annual Giving Tuesday celebration, one of the region’s largest community giving events of the year.

At the event, Astrion’s Jennifer Damewood proudly presented a philanthropic grant to the National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC), a long-time charitable partner of Astrion and its legacy companies.

Supporting NCAC is more than a tradition—it reflects our commitment to protecting and empowering the most vulnerable members of our communities. We are honored to help advance the critical work they do for children and families across North Alabama and beyond.

This moment set the tone for our entire fall grant cycle: purposeful giving, meaningful partnerships, and a focus on uplifting lives.

Investing in Community Strength

Through the Astrion in Action grant program, we have the opportunity to support organizations that are transforming lives in the communities where we live and work.

This fall, Astrion is proud to award grants to nonprofit partners who are addressing a broad spectrum of critical community needs including:

  • Hunger relief
  • Foster care expansion
  • Veteran support
  • Disability services
  • Homelessness recovery
  • Addiction and mental health treatment
  • Early education and more

Astrion in Action supports these efforts through grants and matching contributions. The program partners with 501(c)(3) organizations aligned with our values, awarding grants twice a year in December and June to support community projects. Together, we are partnering with local and national nonprofits to create lasting impact.

A Story of Impact: Finding Hope at the Caring House

Among this year’s recipients, the Huntsville Hospital Foundation’s Caring House continues to stand out as a beacon of hope for children navigating the loss of a loved one.

Eight-year-old Maya lost her father unexpectedly last year. In the weeks that followed, she struggled to understand her grief, telling her mother, “I don’t know how to be happy anymore.”

At the Caring House, Maya joined a small group of children who had experienced similar losses. Through art therapy, storytelling, and gentle guidance, she began to heal. One day, after drawing a picture of her and her father fishing, she smiled again — “I think Daddy would like this picture.”

Her mother later shared that the Caring House didn’t just help Maya heal, it helped her find herself again.

Stories like Maya’s are the reason Astrion is proud to support organizations doing life-changing work.

Looking Ahead

The Astrion in Action program is more than a twice-a-year event, it’s a full-time partnership with the people and programs creating real change in the world around us. Thank you to our nonprofit partners, and every team member whose passion helps guide this effort.

Together, we are making an impact.
